Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre, Kirkee, Pune where the disabled Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen with spinal Cord injury. i.e. paraplegics and tetraplegics, are housed and looked after, was constructed in 1974 (after Indo-Pak War of 1971)with accommodation for 24 inmates.  In 1980 the accommodation was increased to 65 which included 57 for single accommodation and 08 as married quarters. With third expention in 1994 at present accommodation for 109 inmates is available which includes 26 specially designed married accomodation for married  paraplegic/tetraplegic inmates including 04 officer paraplegic family quarters.
